Sledding in New Mexico

We went sledding while were at NM spending Christmas with my in-laws; we had fun especially my son who was brave enough to sled by himself. I, on the other hand just took pictures and video of them for it was very cold. Anyway, here are a couple of video taken when Jacob was sledding.

Knitting Is A Way To Share Love

Guest post from: Denver Stephens

I don't think I could say enough about the wonders of knitting. I taught myself to knit many many years ago and have not forgotten the pleasure it brought. Although I have not knitted anything at all for the last few years, I know that I could pick it up again, anytime I wished. The thing about knitting is that it is kind of like riding a bike, you just don't forget how to do it.

In fact, I think I am going to go dig out my knitting needles and find some yarn that has been hiding for several years and hone my skills again while I'm watching satellite TV from www.DirectStarTV.com tonight. That's the way I learned it to knit to begin with, just sitting in front of the television. I felt like that sometimes I was wasting my time idly watching the tube, so I began to knit. This turned into a wonderful hobby and allowed me to create something beautiful at the same time.

What I found as I learned to knit was that family and friends admired what I had created so much that I was knitting things to give away as gifts at Christmas time. I still see some of those creations in the homes of the people I care about. Knitting provided me a way of sharing my love.

Christmas Shopping with My Girls

Thanks for the post, Vernon Lowe

My girls are my favorite people to go Christmas shopping with because we like to shop the same way. We don't care about fancy stores or going to the mall. Our objective when shopping for Christmas is to get the best deal. It takes a lot of time to shop the way we do because you have to look carefully if you want to find the best bargains.

We can spend three or four hours at the same store. When we are gone from home on our shopping expeditions, we always make sure to set our home security alarm from SecurityChoice.com before we leave to go Christmas shopping. This way we won't have to worry about anything and can concentrate on finding the good deals.

Last week we went shopping at Big Lots. Big Lots is one of our favorite places to find bargains because they specialize in closeout items from other stores. We love stores like Big Lots because they have so many different types of items available. You can find furniture, clothing, home decor items, toys and even video games.

We don't shop for certain items; we make a list of who needs a gift. This helps us be flexible and open to whatever good deals we might find. Try Big Lots to get bargains when you shop for Christmas.

The First Snow Of The Winter Has Arrived

I appreciate the guest post, Emerson Moses

December 4th, 2010 will go down in history as the first snow fall to occur in my town and area. Though it was only between a dusting to an inch in some places, it did scatter the ground, covered vehicles, and covered rooftops. The weather is still cold and it is giving us a look at what forecasters are saying could be another cold and snowy winter here in Eastern Virginia.

There is still a little snow on the ground from last night and today I will sit back and turn on my Satellite TV Sports Packages and watch football games. My anticipation for the first snow is very different than it was from my younger days. When I was younger, I could not wait for that first snow. It meant no school and being able to go outside and have fun. These days, it is cold weather and sitting back and looking at the beauty of the snow.

It seemed like it would never snow here but over the past decade or so, every winter it snows here. Last winter was especially brutal and went down as one of the snowiest on record. Though the first snow of the year has arrived, I really don't expect it to snow as much as it did last year.

Simple Yet Memorable

In two years time, my son would be baptized and he is already excited about it. This would be one of the milestones of his/our lives and I want to make sure that it would be memorable. When he was blessed or christened, he was only six months old. We didn't think of it that much until it was over. We regretted not buying christening gifts daughter/son :-(. Now, we are already planning for his baptism. Hubby and I decided to make this occasion simple, yet memorable for us all. In fact, last week...hubby and son attended Sam's baptism at church and they said it was very spiritual and simple. People came to witness this event and were all edified.

Friday Fill Ins

So...here we go!

1. What in the world is wrong with you?

2. I see to it that my hubby and son are well fed.

3. Go away cold weather and don't come back till summer.

4. Christmas cards have been sent and so as the gifts for my family back home.

5. I keep all my doctor's advice with regards to my health condition.

6. You (Jacob) will abide by our house rules whether you like it or not.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping early though it's not possible here in the hospital, tomorrow my plans include getting more rest and see my son hopefully and Sunday, I want to go home if my health permits me.

Zappos, My New Fave Online Store

I have been looking for a nice looking big tote I could use when I go to church. I want something that is durable, quality made, simple and yet fashionable. Price is not a problem to me as long as it will last longer. I learned the hard way that expensive brand name and designer stuffs are way better than the cheaper one. And so I went online at Zappos and found the tote I have been looking for. This would be the gift I will give to myself this Christmas (hope my savings would be enough), lol. If not, I can still save it for my birthday.

I love shopping online; and when it comes to shoes and purses, I would never go anywhere but at Zappos. You should check this site out for you will find great stuffs from shoes, clothing, bags and handbags, housewares, watches, and more...they've got you covered. Two more great things about this online store is that the shipping is free both ways and their return policy is up to 365 days; that is one year! Isn't it amazing? It isn't too late yet to shop for Christmas gifts, go to their shop online now and shop! You will be glad you did!

The Conservative Me

If there is one person who will never lingerie, that person would be me. In fact my friends gave me a lingerie once as a wedding present and to this day I still haven't wore it. I don't know why, but I never like it. Maybe because I am a very conservative person who want simple and modest clothing. But that doesn't mean that I would never buy one. I have an Aunt who loves sexy clothes and lingerie. She would be very happy if I give her a piece or two of lingerie as a Christmas present. She lives overseas, but I wouldn't mind sending it through Fed Ex.

A Wrinkle Cream for my Mom

Finding the best wrinkle cream is like looking for a needle on the haystack. It is there but not easy to find. Good thing there's prototype 37 c reviews where you can read reviews about how effective and safe the prototypye 37 is. Now, finding the right wrinkle cream for you has made easier. I would know what to get once I am ready to treat my wrinkles to be someday. For now, I am getting this wrinkle cream for my mother as a Christmas present. I am pretty sure she would be glad for she wanted to hide the unsightly wrinkles for a long time.

My Kind of Handy Man

Last month our van was making a noise coming from the back tire. We drove and drove it but couldn't figured out what the caused was. Sometimes when we turn left the noise is there and sometimes it doesn't make any squeaky noise at all. Finally, my husband decided to take it to the auto repair shop where rv repairs service is available or done, too! Anyway, before doing that, he took a look to see if he he can fix the problem or not. Sure enough he was able to fix the problem by taking a big rock out. Now, how the rock got inside the tire, we don't have any idea. Good thing my hubby is a handyman who can fix almost everything around the house, thus saving us a lot of bucks

Karate Tournament and Exam

At my last post, I have mentioned about Jake's coming karate tournament. He did a great a great job, by the way. In fact, he was awarded two medals: 1 for executing cool punches on kicking and the other 1 for great kicks. Way to go my son ;-); we are so proud of you! This Saturday, he would take a karate test and hopefully he'd pass it so he could have a new belt (orange). We are all excited. I pray that I would be discharged from hospital to morrow to I can go with him for his test. Good luck my little karate kid! We love you so much!

Ready for the Tournament

My son is very into Karate. He loves going to his Karate lessons and is learning a lot of movements. Who would have thought that he would enjoy Taekwando? My only purpose why I enrolled him was just so he could learn respect, self discipline, focus, and to depend himself from those who will hurt him such as bullies and gangsters.

Last week, Jake instructor told us that he is ready for the tournament which would take place tomorrow. He said that Jacob might get a medal or even some kind of sports trophies for competing. We got so excited upon hearing that. And so, I immediately signed him up for the tournament as well as the testing where he would get a new (orange) belt the following Saturday.

Carpet Cleaning Holiday Break

Having a child in the house is making sure that you make your home clean and safe all the time. This is the reason why I got myself busy looking for organic carpet cleaner Austin. I have heard good word that the best carpet cleaning ingredient sellers and cleaners are in Austin.

After viewing several carpet cleaner prices Austin, I got myself thinking twice. Should I buy my own carpet cleaning materials and follow the furniture cleaning tips they gave or should I hire carpet cleaning specialist Austin and save a lot of time doing hard work??

Anyway, since this is the time to be jolly, I decided to give myself a break. I think I should try hiring some carpet cleaners!!! So now, I think I should try checking carpet cleaning pricing Austin to get my budget approved by my husband. LOL!!

So, how about you? Are you giving yourself a holiday break from carpet cleaning??

Stylish and Fashionable Medical uniforms

I always wanted to be a nurse just like my Aunt and cousins, but due to poverty, I wasn't able to pursue my dream profession instead I ended taking a computer programming which is now obsolete by the way. I just wished I could pursue my studies and be a nurse someday. It isn't to late after all. Anyway, speaking of nursing course or being a nurse, the last time I spoke with my Aunt, she was asked me to find her a nice and fashionable but cheap nurse uniform. Knowing her, she would never wear a scrubs if it is not a 100% cotton. At Blue Sky Scrubs, they sell these medical uniforms; I am sure they also have an all cotton lab coats.

The last time I browse their website, I noticed that they also carry dental assistant uniforms that are very nice and affordable. I wonder whether the dental assistance at our dentist's office gets her uniforms at Blue Sky Scrubs. I really like her uniform for it looks very stylish and comfortable. Hmm, now I get an idea what to give to the nurses and dental assistance who take care of us and our teeth.

Interesting Weight Loss Product

I have been busy doing online tasks ever since I started blogging. I spend most of my free time surfing the net, and reading interesting articles from child care, weight loss stuffs, and all. With all the things I've read lately, the most interesting one was about the best diet pills for women. Doesn't this one sounds interesting to you? A diet pill designed especially for women has awaken my curiosity and made me feel like trying to see if this really works. The only way to find out is that let my hubby try it! If it didn't work for him, them it should work for me...lol. Seriously, I would really like to try it, maybe this is the diet pill I have been searching for.

Everyone Is Busy Shopping

While many people are already busy shopping for Christmas gifts, other are also busy looking for diet pills that works. These people are getting ready for the many foods they will eat during Holiday season. I'll say, good for them. One of the many diet pills that are effective I heard are the phentermine diet pills. This pill can help you lose weight while enjoying your favorite foods serve only during Christmas and New Year. But for us who love foods, this will be useful for us all year long. Too bad, hubby doesn't believe on any diet pills at all otherwise he would try one of the diet pills available in the market today.

Unsightly Dark Circles

I haven't been getting a lot of sleep lately and I am so worried about it. It isn't good for my health as well as my body. I have no idea why sleep stopped visiting me lately. As a result, my eyes look fluffy. I hate it when I am in front of the mirror because all I see are dark circles under my eyes. Tired of those eye bags, I went online and read all about it on http://www.darkcircle-s.com. Thank goodness, I learned something that will treat those unsightly dark circles. So glad for the internet, I get answers for health questions I had that only doctors can answer. Now, I don't have to pay a co pay for some info, for they are right on the tip of my fingers :-).

Rules On School Days

On the way home from Jacob's karate lesson today, he asked me if he can play at his friend/classmate, Aaron. I reminded him that school days are not yet over....meaning no playing at his friend's or our house till weekend. He insisted that tomorrow would not be school. In that case, I asked him if he wanted to go to school tomorrow (Friday), and he said 'yes'. Anyhow, that is one rule he needs to follow aside from no video games, just an hour of tv, read books, practice writing and homework only during school days. He also need to be in bed by 8pm...and up by 6:40am. So far, these rules work for us. Sounds like a lot for a six year old boy, but it really isn't bad at all. So before I look for the best supplements for building muscle, I let him fall asleep first before I finish my other online tasks. Thank goodness, my son always fall asleep in less than 5 minutes every night. Had we not consistent with our rules and schedules, Jacob would be having trouble sleeping early.
