Yesterday, we got a mail from the hospital I go to for treatment on my anemia, transplant center, and my OB-GYNE. The letter informed us that we owe them $5,ooo because the insurance didn't pay much for the treatment for the reason that it was a pre existing health problem. I was very upset because we let three months passed without insurance back in VA; thus making us responsible to pay if we can't produce a letter from our former health insurance. All in all we would need to pay $25,000! It is a big money and we don't have any idea where in the world we would get that amount of money! And so, I prayed not knowing what my husband was thinking. I asked God to help us find a way to pay that amount or at least something we can do to avoid paying that hospital bill legally. And guess what!? After I prayed, without waiting, my prayer was answered! My husband figured it out, that my anemia was not a pre existing health issue, therefore, we are not responsible for the hospital bills, but the health insurance instead! Thank goodness. Now, my husband just got off the phone and straightened it out with the health insurance and that we don't need to worry about it anymore.

Lucky Me!
Woke up early today and I didn't realize till now that it is my lucky day; my husband is off from work for three days and my son has no school till Wednesday :-). Yup, there is no school because of Holiday Fair for students (Texas State Fair) today and tomorrow will be Staff Development which is another holiday for the students. Both of my men are home for three days, awesome. Now, we are thinking of what to do since it is cloudy today as if it is going to rain anytime soon. I am also glad that finally, I am done with the tasks assigned with me, yeheey! Sad that I let two of them expired :-(. Oh well, there will be more coming up, hopefully! For three days, I will be spoiled again 'cause Matt will do the cooking and he will let me do my things on the internet (*grinning*) for as long as I want to!

What a Busy Day!
Yesterday was really a busy day for us. We all got up early and dropped our son to school. After that we decided to have a breakfast at IHOP for our anniversary. Our wedding anniversary is quite different than the usual celebration we used to do before which is dinner date at a restaurant with our son, gifts, cards and chocolates. This time we just had a breakfast, cards and chocolates and a volunteer job we did together at my son's school. Before lunch, we did grocery shopping at Costco. The entire afternoon was pretty much spent running errands, picking our son up, dinner at Vietnamese restaurant which Jake requested because he was hungry for fried rice. After dinner Matt and I sat and watch our favorite T.V. show and a John Wayne movie (Big Jake). I'll say that we had great time despite our busy day!

Our Weekend Went Well!
Yesterday, we went to church and met once again our friends. We were all happy to see one another once again. And because we were only gone for over a year, some of them were like having a dejavu or something. Some of them when I say 'hi" responded "hi" also; then will come back and realized that we are back! Hahahaha, it was funny! Well, we did a lot of talking. We were sad at the same time because some of them have moved out already and some are about to move also. Met some new acquaintances as well :-)! All in all, we had a great Sunday. The services were great! Learned a lot from Sunday School classes as well as with the talks given during sacrament meeting. I love the lesson about provident living, and becoming self-reliant. It is very timing since the economy is still recovering from a sudden meltdown. Oh well, that's all folks....that is how our weekend was spent :-).

What a Busy Day!
I am so pleased with what we have accomplished yesterday 'though we got out of apartment around 10:30 in the morning. We went first to garage/shop to have oil change for our van, routine inspection and windshield crack repair. We spent fair amount of time at the shop and I think it wasn't bad at all considering our van was picked in less than an hour. We then proceed for lunch at our fave Taiwanese restaurant. It was a nice lunch as always. Then, we headed to have our car registered, have our licenses replaced from Virginia to Texas license. By 4pm, we were on our way home. Hubby took a nap a little bit while I was doing updates with my blogs and my son watches video. At around 8:30pm after dinner, he finally end our busy and productive day by returning the swivel sweeper I bought at Walgreens, returned the movies we rented at Blockbuster, and shop at Wal-Mart for t.v. antenna, shower curtain, and some produce. What a day! I even managed to grab some opps at 3Ps and S2x!

Dreaming of Grandmother...at Night!
I dreamt of my grandmother twice already since I got back from my trip to the Philippines more than two weeks ago and it scares me a lot! I don't have any idea why? The first dream was like she was asking me where my mother was; then the next night was, she was dead and when I touched her leg I have found out she was warm and came to life after that. I don't know what is the meaning of these dreams. All I know is that, it is the opposite. Is it maybe because I think about her visiting me at night? Maybe it is!

Grandma's Children
I took this picture of my grandmother's children who were all presents at her funeral. I am sure she was very happy wherever she is right now. Tons of grandkids and great grandkids were also presents. It was like a reunion at the wrong time.
Will be posing some more pix later...of here grandkids, great grandkids as well as great- great grandkids.

It Broke My Heart...
Last night, I talked to my cousin who takes care of my grandmother. He told me is going to visit Lola in the hospital and asked if I want to to see her; of course my answer was "yes". So I waited for a couple of hours and saw my grandmother on her bed sleeping with oxygen mask on her nose. It broke my heart seeing her like that. She is so skinny and couldn't even move herself without any assistance. I was crying the whole time I was watching her...glad my husband was already asleep. My cousin told me that they my Aunts and Uncles decided to take her home...so they can take care of her themselves. My mother and brother were watching her as well. My other told me she will go and visit her as soon as she feels better. I know it was so hard for my mom seeing her mom slowly dying...but there is nothing we can do about it. I just hope my mom is okay...am worried for her. On the other, I feel and know my mom is going to be alright and so am I.

Bad News,,,,
My Lola two years ago on her 95th Birthday!
I got a bad news from my cousin who is taking care of my grandmother telling me that our grandma has been in the hospital for three days now and is not getting any better. She has congested heart and lung and lung that makes her hard to breath now. She is breathing with the help of oxygen. They will take her home tomorrow. The doctor said she is so weak that there's nothing they can do anymore; not to mention that she'near 100 year old. The advised is to take her home...and that is what they are going to do. I am still in denial...that she is leaving us anytime soon now. I still don't know what to do. Oh man, I want to see her so bad! I grew up on her care when I was still a baby till I was about 8 yr old., then went back to live with her again after I finished high school...and didn't leave her till I went overseas. The last time I saw her was two years ago, even then, she barely recognized me...except that I am fat...yun ang sabi niya. Anyway, I maybe going home to see her again for the last time...just not sure yet when. I still need to call forex to see if I can get a cheap plane ticket for Monday's flight. I apologise, but I can't blog hop now. I just can't concentrate.

Catching Up...Again!
It is already 3:30 am and I am still awake blog hopping. It is hard especially when you have been busy all day doing things shores and running errands the whole day. I think this is the price we pay if we want to earn extra income even though it isn't that much compare to working outside home. My husband keeps teasing me every time he sees me sitting in front of the computer. He will say, you better get a real job if you want to earn money. I will just shrug my shoulder or stick my tongue out at him :-)! He would sometimes said: go to bed, you only have four hours of sleep! Anyway, he is used to seeing me going to bed late and doesn't complain anymore. Why would he? At least when he wants to eat out, I have money to pay for it *wink*. Anyway, I need to sleep now...have a nice sleep everyone!

Daily naps don't help. So, I will need to turn my laptop off and go to bed right now! I will surely be visiting your blogs tomorrow. Have a nice day or evening to you all!

Walking Distance
Finally, last night, we were able to go for a walk as family because the weather was better; it was not very cold. Lately, it was only my husband who goes for a walk, he kept asking me to walk with him, but I always refuse it. Weird, but last night, we went to Dairy Queen and order ice cream :-). I really like where we live now because it is closed to everything. We can walk to grocery store and restaurant and drug store even walmart if we want to.

My Best friend!
I used to have a boyfriend who was very closed to me. We met at church and became very close since. He is a nice guy and really have a huge crush with one of my best friends. Unfortunately, my best friend didn't have any feeling for him at all. And he was fine with that. We all remained best friends despite of that. Anyway, I really like him because he was there when the very first man I loved broke up with me. He was so caring and concerned with me. He was very upset with with my ex-bf and with me, too! Why, because I was so depressed, didn't want to eat or do anything. All I did was cry all the time. Anyway, he helped me get through with it. I am just sad that since he got married, our communication was cut off. I don't have any clue of his whereabouts. Anyway, this post is especially made for him...wherever he is right now. I hope he is happy with his family. Peter, this is for you!

What a busy day!
It was a very busy day for us again. Hubby has a dentist appointment and he wanted me to be there. So I went with him, picked Jacob up at school and together we all went to the clinic. I was so bored waiting for hubby to have his teeth cleaned and checked. My son was with him the whole time in preparation for his own appointment next month. By the time he was done, it was lunch time already and we were all very hungry. We went at Shoney's for a buffet lunch. It was a nice lunch. After that, we all decided to go home instead of going to grocery store. Jacob took a nap, Matt was busy finding job online and I was busy with my blogs. I didn't get the chance to drop EC's and visit blogs. I will try to do that as soon as I am done giving my son a bath, read book and tuck him to bed. Oh, boy! What a busy day. Right now, I am having headache, but still need to work on opps before going to bed.

Out to the mall we go....
Today is a holiday (Martin Luther King), so there is no school. Hubby told me this morning before he left for work to make this day a productive one for me and our son.. He said we could go to the park. I said, it is cold outside to go play in the playground. Then he said: go to the mall or do something, just get out of the house! So we did went to the mall today. My son and I have brunch at the food court. I wasn't going to order Chinese food, but Jacob said he wants rice and chicken and that is what we have. I bought him a chocolate milkshake at Wendy's. I just have water for myself. After that, we did some shopping for his pants at Old Navy to wear at church and a sckechers for me. I have been meaning to buy that sneakers for a long time but was very expensive. Well, today, it was 50% off, so grab it and bought it :-). Then, went to play place at the mall and let my son play for a little while. Before we go home stopped by at Target to return the jacket I bought for hubby because it doesn't fit him. Finally, got home around 3:30 pm.
Oh, by the way, it didn't snow yesterday. My poor son didn't see any snow this year! Oh well, maybe next year.

Pledge of Allegiance
Last night while I was downstairs, I heard my son reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance" I was surprised, happy and at the same time proud of him. I went upstairs and asked him to do it again and he did! He did better than me because I already forgotten almost half of it. I don't know about you guys, but everyday, Jake never cease to amaze me with the new things he is learning at school. He doesn't talk much when outside home even at school, but he is listening very intently and when he comes home, he will just amaze me of what he heard and learned. He can even write his First name already! Oh, I am glad we decided to put him into Pre-kindergarten Program; hopefully this coming school year, he will be prepared enough to attend Kindergarten.

Dentist appointment and so on...
Today, my son and I went to see the dentist for my regular check up and cleaning. My son took a day off from school in case he decides to have hygienist clean his teeth. Well, we almost missed our appointment; thanks to my hubby who phoned me from work early in the morning. Anyway, we got there with enough time for paper works. While hygienist was cleaning my teeth, we let Jacob watched television inside the room so he can see what they will do with my teeth and maybe will help convince him to clean hi teeth, too! Unfortunately, it didn't work. And still have to buy him a toy train. After the dentist appointment and buying the toy, we went to buy stuffs to put into Balikbayan Box. I bought clothes for my father, mother, brothers and and their families. Thanks goodness, the box is almost ready to be sent to the Philippines, just need few things like shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bath soap and canned foods. It is a busy day again for us, and again, the laundry is not yet done as well as ironing of clothes. Hubby is off tomorrow and the day after and I am hoping to finish doing the laundry then.

Home on New Year's Day!
My family and I decided to just stay home for New Year. So my son and I stayed home while hubby was at work. Yup, he has to work on New Years day and can't do anything about it. But he came home three hours early because he was bored and there was nothing to do there since the company is closing in less than two months. So I did a nice New Year's dinner for us since we didn't do anything for Christmas. I baked a 13 pound turkey in 2 and a ½ hours, can you believe that? I couldn't but it was than in such a short time. Then, made a coleslaw, green beans, corn on the cob and stuffing; well I forgot the cranberry sauce and a dessert :-)! We just have ice cream and sparkling cider. I think that was enough. Now, we have lots of left over turkey which I am planning to put some in the freezer. What about you, guys? What did you do today?
