Psychological Testing Assessment

The Carole & Robert Krist Samaritan Center
Post By: Kristen B.
The Carole & Ronald Krist Samaritan Center was founded in 1986. It was initially supported by three churches, but that number has grown to 70 churches. In 2002, the center moved to a donated building that was formerly the law offices of Carole and Ronald Krist. More than $1 million have been raised through the annual “Samaritan Celebration” that takes place each year and more is raised through donations.
The main office of the center is in Houston, Texas, and 20 branch offices are located throughout the state, including offices in Deer Park, Bellaire, Cypress, Kingwood, Katy, Pearland and Spring. It has several offices in different locations throughout Houston. The Krist Samaritan Center is a non-profit organization and offers services to everyone, regardless of ability to pay, age, faith or ethnicity.
The Samaritan Center offers psychological testing assessment in several areas, including the Beck Depression Inventory, the Strong Campbell Interest Assessment, pre-marital testing and the Taylor Johnson Temperament Analysis. They also offer testing for a child’s placement into gifted programs and consultation for other facilities doing psychological testing.
Treatment and testing are available for anyone needing it. Fees are on a sliding scale based on income. Treatment not only addresses the issue the person came to the center for, but also includes education and testing. The center is committed to quality care for mind, body and spirit. Services are offered in English and Spanish, with one psychiatrist and many counselors who speak Spanish.
Not only does the Krist Samaritan Center offer counseling and training to individuals and families, but it also offers training for members of the clergy and for mental health professionals. It is accredited by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the Samaritan Institute. More than 150 people have graduated from its counseling training.
