The Place Where We are Married

This is a picture of Albuquerque, New Mexico LDS Temple; the place where Matt and I were married and covenanted to God and promised to honor and keep that covenant we made for that is the only way we can be together forever as couple and family.

This temple was only four years in the operation when we got married. Pretty new, yet the most important building where it stands.

Quality and Discounted Vanities

My husband and I always wanted to have a nice house once again with a big bathroom. I wanted to have a spa, shower and a double vanities so both of us can do our thing in there without one of us leaving. The last house we have was really small and the master bath was smaller than the other one. So we always ended up waiting till he or I is done. I am excited to move back to where my husband was born and raised. My in-laws found a house for us and it is bigger than the first house we have before. Anyway, we are planning to sell our furniture to lighten our load when it is time for us to leave. We also both agreed to replace the Vanities in the master bath and guest room. I have found an online store where they sell Bathroom Vanity Sinks, Bathroom Mirrors. Whether you are looking for a single vanity, double vanity, antique vanity, glass vanity, contemporary vanity or teak bathrooms vanity, buy vanities online.com has you cover. What I like best with their bathroom vanities; they are quality made with the price that is competitive. Right now, they are offering their customer great deal on Discount Bathroom Vanities .As a service to their customers, they offer FREE shipping on all single and double bathroom vanities, as well as linen cabinets, plus all of the bathroom vanities are in discounted prices. If you are planning to purchase any of the products I have mention here, visit their site to browse their bathroom vanities and accessories.

Affordable Designer Maternity Clothes

As soon as we found out that I was pregnant for the first time, my husband and I got very excited. We started planning for the baby's arrival like preparing the bedroom, furniture, clothes, feeding items, stroller, car seat to name some. I still can remember the feeling I have when my tummy started to show up. My husband and I went to the mall and buy some maternity clothes and personal item for pregnant woman like myself. Anyway, the whole pregnancy especially the first time is really amazing! Anyway, if you or someone you know is expecting your little one, you might want to check ,the online store who sells baby clothes, maternity clothes, Maternity Bottoms, Maternity Swimsuits, baby furniture and baby products. They also have Maternity Clothes which are great since summertime is fast approaching. Their maternity clothes and baby clothes are not only award winning, but also you can buy them by your favorite designer like Habitual and Rock and Republic, Appaman and Zutano. I really like the store because their baby products are all natural and that includes the rubber pacifiers. They even have a registry for baby shower. Tori Spelling’s Potty TrainingTips

When it came time for Tori Spelling to potty train her son Liam, 23 months, she got help straight from the experts.

Tori, who is also mom to 7-month-old daughter Stella, has teamed up with Huggies to ditch the diapers. Now she’s sharing her top 5 potty training secrets with the rest of us:

1. The Potty Dance. Instead of stickers or treats, Liam celebrates potty success with a special dance. “I didn’t want to be the mom that offered a cookie to him,” says Tori, and adds that she and her husband Dean McDermott get in on the dancing fun too.

2. Books About Bodily Functions. Tori’s favorite? “Its called Everybody Poos, just to teach him that what he’s doing was normal.”

3. Pull Ups. Liam’s Pull Ups feature characters from his favorite movie: Cars! Though Tori admits there’ve been a few challenges. “His new thing is that he likes to greet people, and he loves the movie Cars,” she says.”So, he wants to show you cars on his Pull Ups, so he pulls down his pants, and he’s like, ‘Cars.’”

4. A potty. If you’ve spent any time at Babies R Us lately you’ll know that today’s potties come equipped with all sorts of bells and whistles – literally. Tori’s pick is the Safety First Jack Potty, “featuring a sensor that triggers the jackpot images to begin spinning and making noise when the potty gets wet.”

5. Friends or Family with Experience. We may not all have Huggies on speed dial, but there are often other experts closer to home. “Dean’s been through it before, so he was the great go-to guide, because I have a 10-year-old stepson,” says Tori.

Make Your Easter Celebrations the Best Ever!

We normally celebrate Easter by coloring boiled eggs as a family day before. Then, hide the eggs when my son is sleeping. The next day we would just watch our son find eggs in the backyard. We always have fun doing the eggs hunting. Then, we would go to church. After church, I will just prepare a nice meal. This year I am planning to make it a little bit special since we will be moving close to my in-laws. I will make a nice lunch for us in addition to what we normally do. I am going to bake cupcakes also for dessert. I am thinking it would be very nice to eat out. So, I am going to set a table in the backyard and decorate it with easter table decorations. While browsing Easter decorations at celebrations.com, I have found out some nice ideas and I wanted to incorporate one of them into the Easter table. I am going to decorate the table with Eggs in a Nest Place Cards and will ask my son to help me with. For the meal, I also saw Julia Child's menu and decided to try it as well. After lunch, we will rest a little bit, and then play games and then maybe after that go for a nice walk since we all like to go for a walk after dinner. We will end the Eater celebration with a family gospel study focusing on Jesus Death and Resurrection. Oh. Boy, I am excited! I can't wait for it to happen. It would be very nice for all of us to celebrates this year's Easter. If you guys want some ideas on how you celebrate Easter, you can visit celebrations.com , they have tons of ideas for every occasions.

Are you a good father?

This entry is not only for father, it can be applied to the mothers as well. I believe that raising kids is partnership between husbands and wives with God in between them. And if followed, we will be successful in our role as parents. I also believe that children first school should be our home with us being the teacher.

You know you are a good father when:

• When you help your kids with their schoolwork
• When you take an interest in their hobbies
• When you show affection to your wife in front of them
• When you advocate that they speak to you and each other respectfully
• When you just enjoy being with your children
• When your son or daughter comes running to you when they get hurt
• When your calendar is full of things to do with your children
• When you calmly and gently discipline your children without yelling or screaming
• When you tuck your children into bed at night and tell them “I love you”
• When you drive your kids to school in the morning
• When you make Saturday morning breakfast for them

Stress Institute

Because of the economic crisis, a lot of people especially adults are under stress. There are many things contribute so much stress like the job loss, finances, debts, health to name some. Personally, my husband and I are under lot of stress right because of job lost. Today marked the end of his job at the company he worked with. He is officially jobless looking for a job anywhere. Because of the job competition now, it isn't easy for him to find one. We just don't know what to do. We sure can use some help to lessen our worries and stress. It is a good to know that there is a place to go get help. Dr. Kathleen Hall is a founder of Stress Institute in 1997 and a world renowned expert in health and wellness as well as stress and work-life balance. The Stress Institute is comprised of prominent physicians and professionals in a variety of stress and work/life balance related disciplines. It provides programs on prevention of stress and help people maintain a well-balanced and stress free lifestyles as well as achieve work life balance. If we learn to manage our stress levels or prevent stress, our quality of life will improve and so as our overall health.

You Are A Marvel

Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michaelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you harm another who is, like you, a marvel? We must all work and help to make the world worthy of its children.

Secrets Your Doctor Isn't Spilling

What you don't know could hurt you. It is so true! And that is the reason why we need to communicate to our doctor well. We need to tell what we feel, need and ask more about our health.

The relationship you have with your physician is a very important one. It should be rooted in trust and complete honesty. However, like most relationships, it's not perfect, and as you're likely to keep a few facts to yourself, your doctor is probably harboring some secrets of his own. Read on for important information your doctor may be holding from you--because you deserve to know the truth.

You probably don't need an antibiotic. A 2007 analysis of information gathered from the General Practice Research Database, the world's largest computerized collection of medical-record information, revealed that primary-care physicians prescribe antibiotics up to 80 percent of the time for viral illnesses such as ear infections, upper-respiratory-tract infections, and sinusitis. Though medication may put your mind at ease, it will do nothing to eradicate a viral infection, since antibiotics are only effective against bacterial infections. If anything, by taking an unnecessary antibiotic, you're contributing to the ever-growing problem of antibiotic-resistant diseases.

And you may not need that CAT scan either. A report issued by the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine estimated that mistakes made by doctors and medical personnel injure about 1 million people and kill up to 98,000 in the United States each year. To prevent such errors, and the lawsuits that could result, doctors overdo it by ordering a slew of gratuitous tests. In fact, the American Medical Association found that 62 percent of residents keep the possibility of a malpractice suit at the top of their mind when they make decisions about how to treat their patients.

Don't schedule surgery for a Friday afternoon. Complications due to a surgical procedure usually won't surface until the day after. So if you have an operation on a Friday and develop an infection that Saturday, for example, you'll be stuck in a hospital that's likely to be understaffed while your doctor may not be immediately available. A study published in The Annals of Surgery in November 2007 reported that patients who underwent surgery on a Friday and recuperated on a regular hospital floor over the weekend were 17 percent more likely to die in the following 30 days than were those who had surgery earlier in the week.

Jake First Time Swimming!

These were the pictures taken during summer time in 2005. Jacob was 11 months old then, and it was his first time to go swimming with his cousin and Uncle. As you can see, he was enjoying it. Last year we enrolled him at his school for his swimming lesson; he did like it even though you can see on his face that he was scared. Last summer, His Daddy started giving him a lesson and he freaked out wouldn't want to let go of his Dad. I hope it will be different this year, that he would get excited and finally learn to swim without fear!

I was watching them here in this picture :-). I didn't swim neither hubby because we didn't bring swim suits.

Help Track Sex Offenders!

A friend of mine told me a few years ago that a sex offender lives in our neighborhood, I was so scared since my husband leaves for work early in the morning and comes home late. Every time we go for a walk everyday, we can't help but avoid going near where his house. Imagine the threat the neighborhood felt that time. I am glad we already move, so we don't need to deal with such threat again especially that we have a son to protect who goes to school everyday.Do you know that there are lot of ways to track self offenders? The law enforcement agencies for one are working with different agencies and companies to create a group of protection elements against the crime like this one. If you or someone you know who is a victim of this type of crime, then you have do something to have this type of crime be stopped. The best way to do it is to report it to the law enforcement agency, get the public be aware of the situations. We don't want this type of thing happens again; not to us or even our loved ones. Great Deal on Phone Cards and Calling Cards

Lately, I have been procrastinating calling my family in the Philippines. I just talk with them through IM since it is free. But then again, I like it better when I hear their voice over the phone, especially my parents. My husband keeps telling me it is fine to call my family often. But I can't help but worry every time the phone bill comes. I just wished there is a better way to call them without paying too much. My mother was hospitalized due to mild stroke that is why I need to call and checked her health. Then I realized that I can talk to them using Prepaid Phone Card! Why didn't I think about that? Anyway, there is a store online that sells Phone Cards with different services offered for very reasonable price. Their international prepaid Calling Cards are available in their website. What I like most about it is that some of their prepaid cards is rechargeable which means, you got to keep your PIN without out having to use different card every time. Right now, they give 40% extra balance and $10 worth of talking time for the first time user. I will definitely recommend this site with my friends because the price is very low. If you are interested why don't you check their site out for more information

Moving 101

In today's world, we're often on the move. But the excitement and anticipation of moving somewhere new are often overshadowed by all the work that lies ahead: the sorting the packing and heavy lifting. To make things easier for ourselves, as well as for anyone who is helping, there is much we can do ahead of time. Here are some tips on how experienced movers often handle the job.

De-junk. start by sorting through drawers, cupboards, closets and the garage. Sell or donate excess items.
Rent needed equipment. Assess your furniture-moving needs ahead of time and reserve dollies or other equipment to help you move the big items.
Ask for help. enlist family and friends to help with packing and loading.
Get lots of packing materials. Find or purchase plenty of boxes. You will also need sticky labels, marking pens, newspapers or other filler and packing tape. You may also want to have old blankets on hand to keep furniture from getting scratched.
Label. Write on or color-code your packing boxes. Colored, peel-off stickers, available at office supplies stores, can indicate at a glance where a box belongs. If you like, you can label the boxes according to where they will go in the next house.
Prepare personal items. Use your car to store toiletries, medicine, and other personal items you will need during the move. You might also want to keep plastic utensils, cups, and paper plates on hand.
Pack valuables. don't delegate this task; only you know how your valuables should be treated.
Pack the walls. Take down pictures,, decorations and curtains...anything that are not screwed in to the wall or part of the home sale.
Unplug. Before anything is moved, unhook cords or cables that might get lost or disorganized. Neatly coil and label them before packing.
Feed the crew. The day of the move, have simple food and drinks on hand. This does wonders to keep everyone energized and in good spirits.
Set aside cleaning supply. Once everything is out of the house, you will be able to clean quickly if your well stocked and organized.

Our weekend Trip to Virginia Beach

This weekends, we went to Virginia Beach to send my Balikbayan Box to my family in the Philippines. Because we woke up late, it took a while before I finally finished packing the box up. It was like almost lunch time before we left home. We got there at 1:45 in the afternoon, ate our lunch at Filipino restaurant and then, headed to the Forex Office only to find out they closed at 3pm. Oh my, we were only 10 minutes late. Anyway, it was one of our plan to see the Chesapeake Bridge, a 30 minutes long drive bridge, but we didn't get the chance to do that, not even see the beach. We just hang out there talk with Filipinos and shop at Filipino Store. We still enjoyed our trip there though we didn't accomplish much. We will go back there this Saturday, and hopefully will see the beach and chesapeake bay bridge. No picutres taken, but 2 when we drove inside the tunnel.

Me, Would Make a Great 1930's Wife!?

You Would Make a Great 1930's Wife

You've got a few retro ways, and you would make the ideal 1930's wife.
At least, that's how it looks on paper. You may just be an easygoing, pleasant person.
With a personality like yours, you'd be a great wife in any era!
Would You Have Been a Good Wife in the 1930s?

I would like to try to be one if given a chance :-). I always admire those people who lived that time. I grew up in a poor family and I am grateful for that; because that was the reason why I learned a lot of things in life, that kids these days wouldn't be interested of learning. At the age of 6 I was already washing my own clothes, helping my mother with the chores; I watched my mother respecting my father and vice versa.

Hubby is Out of Job!

Two more days and my husband is out of work. I have mixed feelings about it. First, I am glad he'll be home with us for a little while and second, he will be working his butt to finding a job and hopefully he will get one soon or else we are in trouble. If he didn't get a job till April, we don't have a choice but move back to New Mexico where he was born and raised. He will go back to school and I will be working. Jacob will spend a lot of times bonding with his grandparents which we want. He is far away from my parents, at least he will be closed to one of his grandparents. I am worried that it will be very hard for us to find jobs in there for it is not really big city.

A Music Lovers Family

Listening to good Music brings joy to my heart especially when I listen to church hymns. My family and I love music and it has become part of our everyday lives. We listen and sing together and that is so much fun. I am glad that I have come to love country songs when I got here in United States and I even bought some CD's back in Texas. Before my husband and I buy music, we make sure that we read music reviews especially now that we have a little one at home. We want him to be exposed to good music that will uplift and inspire him, plus he doesn't love loud music himself which is good! Country Music Reviews are one of the best music reviews we love to read, too! It gives us ideas which one is best for us and our lifestyle. What about you?

Guess who?

After our dinner on Valentines Day, my son took this picture when I was sitting in front of the computer upstairs. I think He did a good job here, don't you think? Except me :-).

I will be posting his camera he used when he took this one. It was his own digital camera he got from Christmas last year. We love his camera because it is cute and can do the normal camera does.

Headache, You Can Ease the Pain!

Next time you get a nagging headache, try a little fingertip therapy. You might feel better more quickly without taking medicine. I think it is great!
RealAge experts Mehmet Oz, MD, and Michael Roizen, MD, recommend massaging these acupressure points to ease the grip of a tension headache.

~~Your temporalis muscle: With your index and middle fingers, apply pressure to your temporalis muscle. It’s that tender spot where you feel a muscle move when you clench your teeth.
~~Behind your ears: Using your thumbs, massage in a circular motion the spots just underneath the large bones behind your ears.
~~Between your eyes: With your middle finger and thumb, gently pinch the skin just above your nose and press upward so you feel the pressure around your eyebrows.
~~The web of your hand: Use your thumb and index finger to squeeze the fleshy pad of skin between the thumb and index finger on your opposite hand.

mommy moments

I have tried to breastfed Jacob but unfortunately, there was no milk coming out because of the medicines I have been taking after abdominal surgery due to infection after my c-section. I pumped and pumped but no milk at all :-). So, since he was a NICU for a month, they fed him with powdered milk. When Jacob turned six months old, we started feeding him rice cereal with milk and mashed banana and really liked it. We have fun feed
ing and watching him spit the food out of his mouth at first.

Here he is stated feeding himself with his favorite food, spaghetti., wasn't picky eater yet and ate every foods we fed him.
He can really feed himself already. He loves grapes and banana. For whatever reason, he wouldn't eat banana anymore unless you threaten him :-)!

Craving for Mexican Rice

I love Mexican Fried Rice, but every time we eat out at Mexican restaurant here, we get disappointed! It seems like nobody here knows how to make the original one. It is either soupy or tasteless! So, I decided to make it myself.

Ingredients:
1 c. rice, cooked
6 sliced bacon, chopped
1 c. water
1 can (8 oz.) seasoned tomato sauce
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 beef bouillon
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. cumin

Procedures:
Cook bacon until crisp and remove bacon from pan. Add rice to drippings and cook until rice is slightly brown. Add bacon and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until liquid is reduced. 4 to 6 servings.

6 Foods That Ruin Your Smile

I have yellow teeth and is wondering where am I getting the stain or the sources. Which foods or even drinks? So, to answer my own questions, I searched the net and found this very informative site. And here they are. If you guys have the same problem with your teeth discoloration.

Dr. Catrise Austin, cosmetic dentist to the stars and founder of VIP Smiles, weighs in on which foods and drinks could be destroying your smile.

1. Coffee and Tea. Caffeine addicts might cringe, but the dark pigmentation in these popular morning beverages can stain your teeth. "The rule of thumb is that anything that can stain a white t-shirt can harm the color of your smile," says Austin. If you consume these beverages daily, you may lose your white smile. Fortunately, these types of stains can be removed easily with a professional cleaning from your dentist. You should also be aware of how much sugar you're adding to your coffee or tea—too much can contribute to cavities.
2. Red Wine. It may be good for the heart, but red wine is bad for maintaining a bright smile. The red color can discolor your teeth over time, giving your smile a dull appearance. The same goes for dark berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries.
3. Dark Colas. Dark colas are just as bad for the color of your teeth as coffee and teas. Most sodas are acidic and have a high sugar content, both of which can rot your teeth over time. If you don't brush or rinse your mouth after drinking colas, the acid and sugar will continue to stick to your teeth long after you finish the drink, and they'll continue to do their dirty work.

Lots of sugar and acid in the following three foods could give you fewer reasons to smile.

4. Chocolate. Like coffee, the dark and rich texture of certain types of chocolate can wear away and discolor the tooth enamel. The high sugar content also leads to cavities and decay if teeth are not properly brushed.
5. Candy. It's well known that the sugar content of candy can erode the teeth's enamel and lead to cavities, but biting down on hard candies can also cause fracture lines or chips in your teeth, ruining the overall appearance of your smile.
6. Citrus Fruits. Fruits such as lemons and limes are highly acidic. If acid frequently comes into direct contact with the teeth's enamel, over time, it can erode your teeth by causing craters, notches, or holes.

Want to Lower Your Cholesterol and be Healty?

If you have high cholesterol, that doesn't mean you have to resign yourself to a bland diet. In fact, a tasty salmon entree, a handful of sweet berries, or even a glass of red wine can all help to lower your levels and improve your heart health. The next time you go grocery shopping, look for these cholesterol-lowering treats recommended by the American Heart Association.

1. Extra virgin olive oil:

Studies have shown that this type of olive oil increases the body's levels of HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol), which helps to reduce plaque buildup in the arteries.

2. Beans:

Kidney, lima, black, navy, and pinto beans are rich in the fiber your body needs to help lower cholesterol. Research has shown eating 5 to 10 grams of fiber per day helps to lower LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) by 3 to 5 percent.

3. Oatmeal and oat bran:

Also high in fiber, oats contain beta-glucan, which helps to lower LDL levels. Oats also help regulate blood glucose levels, a benefit to those with diabetes.

4. Nuts:

Almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, and walnuts contain monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are both known to lower cholesterol. Limit your daily intake to one and a half ounces (which is about one and a half handfuls), since nuts are high in calories.

5. Plant sterols and stenols:

These are natural substances found in small amounts in the cell membrane of plants, including fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and seeds. You can get the recommended two grams per day by eating fortified foods such as margarine spread, orange juice, and salad dressings, but these should only be eaten by people with high levels of LDL cholesterol.

6. Salmon and omega-3 fats:

Omega-3s, found in fatty fish, like salmon, sardines, and anchovies, and in fortified eggs and soybeans, reduce nearly every risk factor for heart disease. They reduce inflammation, reduce high blood pressure, decrease triglycerides, help to make blood thinner and less likely to clot, and raise HDL cholesterol.

7. Alcohol:

All alcohol in moderation (no more than one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men) can be beneficial to the heart, but red wine in particular provides antioxidants that offer an extra nutritional boost.

8. Blueberries:

These antioxidant-rich berries also contain a compound that may help lower LDL cholesterol as effectively as some drugs do and with fewer side effects.

9. Cranberry-grape juice:

Antioxidants found in grape juice can help slow the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, and cranberry juice raises HDL cholesterol. Just be sure to purchase 100 percent juiceyou don't need all the sugar of a juice cocktail.

10. Yogurt with live active cultures (probiotics):

Several studies have shown that probiotics help lower LDL cholesterol by preventing the reabsorption of cholesterol back into the bloodstream.

How to Pick the Freshest Flowers

Choose flowers with some unopened buds. But avoid any tightly shut green buds, which were not given enough time to mature before cutting and will never open.
Look for firm stems and blossoms. If you're shopping for flowers that have heavy heads, such as spider mums and gerbera daisies, choose stems with plastic straws or foam cuffs protecting the blooms.
Check leaves for discoloration and imperfections — an unhealthy appearance may indicate the flowers are past their prime.
Stores usually receive new stock on the same days every week. Ask a clerk or a manager when flowers are delivered so you can buy them at their freshest.
