I have been to surgeries since I got here in the U.S. at least ten times now. I remember they always schedule my surgery in the morning. And I wondered why? I have been meaning to ask the doctor or nurse why, but I keep forgetting it. I have found the answer at Consumer Report Health. Here it is...
The hospital might not tell you about this, but evidence suggests that having surgery early in the day may be safer. You are four times less likely to have surgery-related problems if your surgery starts in the morning instead of between 3pm to 4pm. Fatique and body rhythm swings among hospital staff maybe part of the reason.
